The Library had a bookmark contest in April to pick designs to print on bookmarks for the Summer Library Program. The theme this year is “Reading Is So Delicious!” and contest entrants were asked to design a bookmark to go along with the theme.
Our three winners were Sergio Vazquez (1st grade) in the Pre-school–2nd grade category, Melanie McClintock (5th grade) in the 3rd–5th grade category, and Cristal Vargas (8th grade) in the 6th–8th grade category.
The judges were Marilyn Rehse, Lynette Benson, and Laurie Woodward of the Friends of the Orland Library. The Friends sponsored the cost of the contest prizes and printing the bookmarks. Thank you, Friends!
Bookmarks have been handed out to school children and are available in the library. We are proud of our winners and hope we will have many more entrants next year.
