Food for Fines at the Library

The Orland Free Library is offering patrons with overdue fines a “Food for Fines” amnesty through the month of December. Patrons with outstanding fines for overdue materials may have their fines erased by donating canned and non-perishable food items. For each item or can of food, the library will deduct $1 from overdue fines.
All donations received will be given to the local Food Pantry
Bills for lost or damaged library items are not eligible for the “Food for Fines” program. The library does not accept home-canned items, items that are past their expiration date or are dented or damaged, or cans with bar codes that have been lined or scratched through.  Questions? Contact the Orland Library at 865-1640.
