Goodbye September, Hello October.

As the days get shorter and the light fades earlier, fall kicks into full gear. October holds a very special place in the hearts of most children, because of Halloween. Here are some fun observances about October:

  • October’s birthstones are pink tourmaline and opal. It is said that the opal will crack if it is worn by someone who was not born in October.
  • Its birth flower is the calendula.
  • The Zodiac sign for October are Libra (until October 22) or Scorpio (October 23 onwards).
  • The last week in October is the only time of the year when all four major North American Sports league schedule games – the NBA generally starts in that last week while the MLB postseason is just ending. and
