Got Questions about E-books?

Do you have a Kindle, a Nook, a Sony E-Reader, or some other device for reading e-books?  Do you want to read books on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod? You can get books through the Orland Free Library from Overdrive Library to Go. For instance, I don’t have a Kindle, but I do have the Kindle app on my Android tablet. So I can read books in the Kindle format, or in the EPUB format. But when I first started using my tablet as an e-reader, I was confused.
It’s much easier now. Overdrive has added lots of step-by-step help pages for each and every device. When you go to Library to Go, click on Help (the tab on the right.)  You can choose from

  • Overdrive Help (step-by-step instructions for getting started and questions answered)
  • My Help (tell it what device you have and it will step you through set-up and download)
  • Device Resources Center (a long list of all supported devices)
  • Digital Books Tour (short tutorials on the basics of checking out and downloading books)
  • Library Lending Policies
  • Support (yet more help if you need it)

The world of e-books is a complicated place, but once you get set up, you will be able to enjoy reading in a whole new way.  Give it a try, and let us know how you do and how we can help you.
