Job Help at the Library

Looking for a job? Want to improve your work skills?
The Orland Library offers laptops that patrons (you need to have a library card) can check out and use in the library. They have extended checkout times- 4 hours- much longer than the 30 minutes you are guaranteed on one of the public access computers and they offer lots of job help resources. You can use the laptops for any job/career activities- writing a resume, seeking or applying for a job online, brushing up on your computer skills, taking practice tests, etc.
Two helpful online resources that I just learned about today:
VetJobs: America’s premier job board for veterans  (also for members of military families)
Job Rooster: Connect to jobs on your mobile phone
The laptops were provided through a federal grant from the California State Library and the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.
