Spring is Here! Summer is Coming!

It may seem like spring has just finally arrived, but here at the library we are thinking about summer.
Every year the library has a Summer Reading Program for children. This year the theme is “One World, Many Stories.”  We have lots of fun things for you to look forward to.
Registration begins Monday, June 6th. That’s when kids can get their reading log and instructions. Kids can read any books they like—library books, home books, borrowed books from anywhere. They keep track of either the titles they read or the minutes they spend reading. As they complete a section of the reading log, they can get stickers and prizes.
Do you know that reading just 5 books over the summer can prevent reading skills loss?  And it’s fun, too! A book every day prevents reading decay!
The library will have special events and our regular storytimes too.  Preschool storytime is every Wednesday at 11 a.m., Babies & Books is every Thursday at 11 a.m., and every Thursday afternoon at 3:00 there will be an activity for all ages. Don’t miss Wild Things, Inc. on July 21st at 11 a.m. It’s a great chance to meet some live wild animals “up close and personal.”
So get ready for summer—it’s almost here!
