E Clampus Vitus Plaque Dedication for Carnegie Building

E Clampus Vitus Plaque for Carnegie Building

The Sam Brannon Chapter #1004 (Napa) of E Clampus Vitus will dedicate a plaque that commemorates Orland’s historic Carnegie Library building now known as the Carnegie Community Center. An $8,000 Carnegie Foundation grant lead to the construction of Orland’s Carnegie Library completed in December of 1919. The ceremony that unveils the plaque will take place on April 9, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the old library building next to the current Orland Free Library. The public is invited to what should be a colorful event.

E Clampus Vitus (ECV)—members are known as “Clampers”—is a “fraternal organization” dedicated to the preservation of the heritage of the American West. As a “historical society” as well as a mirth making club, ECV members have been placing historical plaques throughout the West for about 90 years. This will be the first ECV plaque in Glenn County.
