Feliz Dia de las Madres

In Mexico Mother’s day is celebrated May 10th- Since about 1922.
Mexican tradition is very different , mothers are worshipped because they devote entire life  to there children . This is a very important  part of the culture , for those people interest in traveling to Mexican and experiencing , here at the library we have books on travel  (917.2)  and cookbooks on how to make tamales, atole ( its a drink), and pollo con mole (chicken with a spicy Mexican paste) very popular for Mother’s Day.
Children go to school and make gifts for their mothers and some schools celebrate with songs and dance. The traditional Birthday song in Mexico is “Las Mananitas , which is serenaded to some mother’s early in the morning – for Mother’s Day
Its always interesting how different cultures celebrate, so on that note –
Venimos todos con gusto y placer a felicitarte ! —
