Guest Speaker Gary Carter at Friends of Library Meeting

Gary Carter (USN, Ret.) is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and served 25 years on active duty. He flew the S-2 Viking which is an all-weather, twin-engine carrier-based jet aircraft designed for anti-submarine warfare from four different aircraft carriers. He also served as navigator of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68) and worked in the office of the Secretary of Defense. After his naval service, Carter flew Boeing 757s and 767s for 16 years for Delta Air Lines and is a Certified Flight Instructor.
His books include Target: Nimitz (2019; Genre Mysteries & Thrillers) and Checklist Complete: Stories from My Life in Aviation (2021; Genre Biographies & Memoirs) which “contains captivating stories and eventful sagas and provides an intriguing glimpse into a life strongly associated with airplanes.”
