Shel Silverstein Rides Again

Beloved artist and poet Shel Silverstein passed away in 1999, but he left a rich archive of unpublished poems and drawings behind. Kids still love reading his verse, and he is a favorite of many grown-ups as well. A selection of never-before-seen works is now available in a new book called Every Thing On It,  and it is sure to delight his many fans.  Here’s a sample:
A spider lives inside my head
Who weaves a strange and wondrous web
Of silken threads and silver strings
To catch all sorts of flying things,
Like crumbs of thought and bits of smiles
And specks of dried-up tears,
And dust of dreams that catch and cling
For years and years and years . . .

So come and meet the Toilet Troll, the Zootch, and Stick-a-Tongue-Out-Sid, and be delighted all over again at the imagination and talent of one of the funniest writers around. Borrow the book from the library, or buy one for your favorite Shel Silverstein fan.
