Update on Library Precautionary Measures Against the Spread of Coronavirus

The Library remains open with our regularly scheduled hours but keeping you safe is our priority so we are monitoring information from the CDC and state and local agencies and authorities and are taking the recommended measures seriously.
Library programs are currently planned to continue as scheduled but we are encouraging people to follow the recommended social distancing of 6 feet per person while in the library or at programs. We may need to temporarily suspend programming and will post here and on Facebook if that becomes necessary.
To ensure a safe library environment we have elevated cleaning and sanitation measures and are taking extra precautions by disinfecting all materials as they are returned to the library.  Educational materials and toys have been removed from the children’s section but will be returned when the risk has passed.
Digital Resources
You can continue to enjoy library services with digital access. The library offers 24/7 free access to ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines here: https://orlandfreelibrary.org/library-to-go/
Please remember to take your own precautionary measures:
Stay home if you are sick
Wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
Cover your cough or sneeze
If you have recently returned from a country, state or region with ongoing COVID-19 infections, monitor your health and follow the instructions of public health officials
Vulnerable individuals, which are defined as 60+ years old or who have health conditions such as heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, kidney disease, and weakened immune systems are recommended to limit outings, avoid large gatherings, telecommute if possible, stay home if they are sick and avoid people who are sick.
Please refer to the CDC website for more information.
