Heard any good books lately?

Along with a plethora of new DVDs we also recently acquired some new audio books. They range from the true crime -I’ll be gone in the dark, the story of one woman’s unrelenting search for the Golden State Killer, to Neil Gaiman’s Norse Mythology. There are some fantastic biographies, Carrie Fisher’s The Princess Diarist and Bruce Springsteen’s Born to Run. Born Survivors by Wendy Holden, tells the story of three young mothers and their extraordinary courage, defiance and hope in the concentration camps.

Code Girls, the untold story of the American women code breakers of World War 2. Facism, a Warning by our ex Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright. We also have American Wolf, The enthralling story of the rise and reign of O-Six, the celebrated Yellowstone wolf, and the people who loved or feared her. And the thought provoking (and provocative) Michal Pollan’s How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence.
To round out this array of great “listens” You think it, I’ll say it by Curtis Sittenfeld, a collection of short stories. Beautiful Days A new collection of thirteen mesmerizing stories by American master Joyce Carol Oates, including the 2017 Pushcart Prize–winning “Undocumented Alien”. and a little something for the young adults, Quiet Power, the Secret Strengths of Introverts by Susan Cain.
Audio books are invaluable for a long car trip, or even your daily commute. So, come on in and pick one up. I’m pretty sure you’ll get hooked.
