Friends of the Library Meeting with Local Historian Gene Russell

New Orland Book to Debut at Friends Meeting

The Thursday, November 6, 2025 meeting of the Friends of the Orland Free Library will feature the introduction of “Orland’s Colorful Past: Potpourri” by local historian Gene Russell. A mixture of miscellaneous stories can be referred to a “potpourri” as this new publication contains 44 stories that have been written over the past six years and include topics on people, places, happenings/events, and history of the local community. This is Dr. Russell’s ninth book on the history of the Land of Orland and will be available for sale at the meeting and later at The Rusty Wagon.

Guests are always welcome as meetings are open to the public. The meeting starts at 10 a.m. in the Community Room at the Orland Free Library, 333 Mill Street, Orland.
