Todd Bishop (OHS ’91) grew up in Orland. He’s the son of Peggy and Bob Bishop, and brother of Lea and Rob. Todd discovered his love for journalism as a teenager writing for the Orland High School Oracle. He went on to lead The Orion student newspaper at Chico State, with internships at the Chico Enterprise-Record and Fresno Bee. His professional reporting career has included roles at The Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Business Journal, Puget Sound Business Journal, and Seattle P-I newspapers.

In 2011, he co-founded the Seattle-based tech news, media production and events company GeekWire with his longtime colleague John Cook. Today, he helps to oversee the 10-person company’s day-to-day operations, hosts the weekly GeekWire Podcast, https://www.geekwire.com/ and serves as a reporter covering topics including Microsoft, Amazon, and artificial intelligence. He goes home to Orland frequently, volunteers as a reporter for the Sacramento Valley Mirror and, with Steve Nordbye, recently started the Orland.News website and email newsletter, https://www.orland.news/
